I agree - every DR feels different to everyone.

I will say that once I fit a pad to the Merkel I think the
balance will be 100% correct - it's amazing how such a small
amount of additional weight at the butt can change the feel of
a gun.

Re the cocking/safety system!
I also believe a mis-cue with the Blaser, or Krieghoff
could very well get you killed and that's exactly why I
wouldn't get one in a DG DR.

In a tight, high pressure situation (ie reload for a charge), your brain
/ hands will instinctively revert to what you are used to LONG TERM,
so for someone naturally used to "normal" guns, you'd forget.

The same reason if you hunt DG often you should use the same
TYPE of rifle - ie Mauser 98 etc.
