Not to forget that a double is a "close in" weapon and shorter barrels make for easier (ie: quicker) handling and are always prefered in dense brush and tall grass when doing follow up. Please talk to Butch and if possible handle some doubles. You might want longer tubes that 24'', but I wouldn't. Think about having to stop a buff at 8 feet, would another 50FPS make any difference, or getting the gun up and pointed at the place where you MUST shoot him be more important? A lot of the PHs used (or use) barrels as short as 20 inches (or shorter) on their guns. Thats about the same (forward length) as 24's on a double.
