This is partly a response to this thread + the Regulation Thread on the forum. I was doing my research before going to look at the Blaser S2 (looking through the forums to see all of your posts so I know what to pass judgement on) and I cross checked a few things in the current Blaser catalogue. It then dawned on me why they may have made the gun like it is so a few thoughts for comments before I look at them. I WELCOME ANY COMMENTS. Rubber between the Ribs - in looking at the catalogue the Blaser S2 has a solid Rib on the top barrelas per any DR. Sights are attached to this. Therefore I assume the rubber is between the barrels under the Rib. (see next post re my thoughts on why this is. How about the bands around the muzzles? The barrels are FREE FLOATING and on the bands at the muzzle of the gun are 3 very small Hex screws - This must be where the muzzle end of the barrels attach to the band. What I am wondering is if these 3 screws are where you can make adjustment. Then in the Middle of the 2 barrels is obviously a Large Hex Screw - not sure if this is for adjustment. So in reality I don't think the rubber between the barrels has anything to do except stop the free floating barrels from moving. Roof over the action The gun uses a Tilting Block mechanism (on the back / rear of the action.) The roof over the action covers this so it does actually have some functionality. As to looks, fit, finish and feel, I like the look of them in the catalogue but everything else will need to have judgement passed on it when I see it and shoot them. I think there may be method in their madness.!!!, It's just that it may take a while for the market to catch up !!! 500 Nitro |
