Again I say leave it alone until you find more info. no rush - FYI - I had a $100 WWII Military Fighting Knife that was very crudely and unsightly marked with the number 18083707 and initials ALM. It was light enough that I thought about having it polished out to restore it. However, later research soon discovered it was the service number and initials for Audy Murphy. That knife sold for several $$ thousands.
