Welcome to the South. One thing to note is there are not many wild moose in Winston Salem or actually in the South.
On the subject of competent gunsmith, Chris would be better in responding. I use Bill Schwarz in Ellijay, GA but that is a long drive (4.5 hrs) and perhaps better mailing the rifle to him.
If you are settled by late April, Rick Weber is hosting a sporting, rook & double rifle match at Oakridge, TN on April 24/25th. It is a great set of matches with very interesting rifles. I can send you information if you are interested.
