You guys are certainly experts at missing the point.

W & C Scott were the absolute pinnacle of English makers in the 1870s to 1890s, bested only by a couple of Scottish makers (arguably),
probably made all of Holland & Holland's black powder Royal sidelock ejectors, and most other makers/retailers' "best" guns at the time.

They did NOT get their reputation for excellence by doing sloppy work or choosing to cut corners because it was cheaper!

The fact that that particular style did not endure is no reflection on the guns so-made or the highest standard of workmanship for which the Scott firm is famous.

They clearly made some that way deliberately, not because they were sloppy, not because they were skimping, but because they wanted to.

Get over it!
