Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated! As far as I understand it the new legislation prohibits the use of any lead core ammunition regardless of where it's used. On top of that for hunting here in the UK the bullet used must be designed to expand and deform, even with the cup point the Woodleigh hydro's wouldn't be allowed for hunting. I have found a few options however, RWS make the HIT bullet which is basically a Barnes dressed up. Fox sells a couple of 9.3 bullets, as well as Sako in component form. I'm more concerned about what might be required to get the rifle to shoot using these lighter bullets, and actually having enough velocity behind them once that's done to perform reliably. It is a big shame about Kynamco, let's hope someone takes up the name and gives it a new lease of life. |
