Good point. What I understand is that the PP bullet should be soft so it upsets in the rifling. Hard bullets do not upset, particularly under low chamber pressuee. The PP bullets I have used are swages soft lead bullets.

The problem with soft PP bullets is that they expand very quickly and may not sufficently penetrate on large game. I understand that was the reason why the 500 BPE with its typical 340 gr soft lead bullet was considered inadquate for buffalo.
