Chris, I missed this thread when you first posted in 2023, so I'm late to the party. Your .500 Woodward appears to be a splendid rifle! Congratulations on it for sure. A .500BPE is good to have. I just now looked at the Bear Creek Supply website, as bullet sources are important. I read about the coating they apply. Does this coating make the bullet sticky? I ask, because it is not good if a paper patch clings to the bullet in flight. I may order a batch of these bullets to try. Do you ever make it to Virginia? It's always good to meet up with a fellow DR shooter. My best results with black powder in my .500 has been with Old Eynsford 2F. However, I will have to confess that my BP results have not achieved the accuracy and regulation I have seen with NfB loads. It's been a while since I have played with my .500 rifles, and I now feel I should get back to it. Keep posting! Curly |
