In brands which have different action sizes, usually the 9.3x74R is the upper end of one range and the .375 or larger, the smaller big bore range. If I wanted a o.3x74R, in affordable choices, I'd look at the Chapuis, Sabatti, but carefullyat the last. Merkel, I suspect might be a larger action? I'd seriously search for used. You might be able to test shoot them. A big plus for the decision. I'd look at, I did, the Valmet/Tikka U/O. Ugly but works. I bought a 9.3x74R double with a set of shotgun barrels for maybe $1500. Later a .30-06 DR set and two combinations 12b/.223 and 12b/7x65R. But the Valmets go when advertised very quickly. Heym has about seven different action sizes. A higher price range. |
