Re: Case labels

Good posts Marrskai. Keeping the thread going.

I'm thinking I need a Spanish Azhur label for my detachable sidelock side by side shotgun. Details for it might be scarcer than hensteeth. Azhur or azure means blue so that might form some sort of image idea? A "blue star"?

I don't have many cases. Two or three modern "car cases". A couple old decrepit "car cases". Not sure any make my grade for a "car case" labelled for a particular gun. My gun safe is chcablock full. No car case will fit in there.

If course I have modern full length modern gun cases.

One decrepit cloth covered case came with and houses my Cogswell & Harrison .500 Exp I'll have to remember whether it has a label. I don't think so So that's one label project for me.

My first modern "car case" I think of belonging with my Azhur. It's a dimpled synthetic covered case. My Jeffery .450 often used that case but I doubt I'd use it for a labelled case for a 120 year old Jeffery.

I do have one decrepit rather covered case, simply purchased because it was there and cheap. Not sure how it fits in.

I have a modern Mauser fitted case for one of my Mauser M03s, with space frbtwo barrels and scopes. That must get a bespoke Mauser label. I think that famous Mauser rifles image might fit the bill. That case could house the synthetic stocked action or the walnut stocked action. One day the latter will get a custom classic walnut stock,

A "full length" rifle case for my Grandfather's Mauser 22 RF might be cool suitably labbelled. And one for my Whitworth Mauser 375. Or PH customised M98 .30-06.

I do have one Aussie Fortress brand "silver" car case. It's strong and useful for the heavy Jeffery .450.

I had ideas of a custom Fortress ordered case for my Mauser M03 system two actioned stocks, four barrels, two bolts, several bolt heads, several magazines four or more scopes Might need two layers.

Generally I use cases as needed, swapping them for the guns as needed A tool kit approach. But the special ones could get a dedicated case The "system" guns could utilise a dedicated case, keeping everything together. My Mauser M03 two rifles and bits, and my Tikka/Valmet u/o is the second. Keeping bits together One doesn't have to look for misplaced bits. A dedicated case could get a special car case label.
