Micky I have owned both single and double trigger rifles and shotguns, but peronally prefer double triggers. I have never had a single trigger fail me in any way, be it rifle or shotgun, but find it much easer to select which barrel as to choke I want to use on a shotgun. As to barrel selection on a double rifle, I personally do not see where it really makes much difference which barrel is fired first, especially if one is in a dangerious situation. As long as you make a good shot and live to tell the story, who cares which barrel you use first? I think at the turn of the century, the firing mechanisms were probably not as good as they are today and it was best to have double triggers on a rifle, especially when it can to DG.. Today I think trigger mechanisms are far better and more reliable. Like I stated, I still prefer double triggers on a shotgun because of faster choke selection. Also, I grew up with double triggers and they are actually easier for me to use. Be it good, bad or indifferent, this is my opinion and what I prefer. |
