Re: British India

Quote:

"When you go into the forest after a hare, be prepared to meet a tiger".
"I almost trod on the tail of a tiger while stocking the spotted buck."
There was also one about his spaniels flushing a panther but I can't remember it right now.
Lt. James Forsyth "The Sporting Rifle and It's Projectiles" published 1862.

Lovely quotations. What excellent sport a hunter had in India in the 1800s and early 1900s. That hare, spotted buck, and panthers, one reason the Paradox gun exists. Or a "Cape gun" type firearm.

I cooked up a big wok of my "British India" style cottage pie vindaloo mince yesterday. Beef this time, nicer than roo of venison as it has more fat. 2 Kg beef mince, two bulbs of garlic, two onions. spring onions, zucchini, two casicum, carrots, mushrooms, peas, beans, a few potatoes just in case ate alone . Usually eat it with mashed potatoes. Medium spicy, used 3x shop bought vindaloo pouches. About 14 meals.

Yum!
