I have the standard front sight. It is very easy to see even with old eyes. I recently shot a dry land hippo just at dark. I might have been able to see the front sight better with a night sight but I couldn't have seen the rear sight very well anyway. Thanks to the custom fit of a Searcy the sights are pretty well lined up whether you can see them or not. Mine is a gold bead but I think the ivory bead standard sight would be better. Like you, I would not care for a flip up night sight because what I like about a double rifle is its simplicity of operation. |
