Small bore DR's... Less is More?

While most of the attention on this forum seems to be understandably related to big bore double rifles and DG hunting, I'm interested in hearing about the more unusual small to medium bore doubles that members may have encountered.

For instance, yesterday I heard of a DR in .22RF originally custom made in the 1930's by one of the British makers for a wealthy Sydney family... perhaps for a young son to learn on as it apparently matched a big bore DR by the same maker. No photos sadly...

It was apparently not uncommon for DR's to be made in various small bore calibres, and even today Heym offer a couple of the smaller European calibres to suit their unique hunting conditions... for Roe deer etc.

Anyone have any stories and hopefully images of these Lilliputian DR's in contrast to the usual .500+ calibres?

Cheers
