Mr. F.C. Scott was the son of James Charles Scott, J.C. Scott was the son of the Founder William Scott and J.C. Scott was the head of W.& C. Scott from 1887 to 1897. F.C. Scott worked at W.& C. Scott and founded his own gunmaking business in 1900 on Bath St. and later moved to Princip St. The gun has 26” Extractor shoe lump barrels with a 1/4 rib w/ 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Front ramp with night sight and sight hood protector, Rib extension dolls head with a third fastener, Bushed strikers, Bolstered frame, Double triggers, 14 1/2” L.O.P. over a 7/8” leather pad, Lever forend latch, Shadow line cheekpiece, Horn grip cap, Sling eyes, 90% coverage of typical English scroll, The buttstock and forend remain very solid and ready for many more years of Safari, No case colors left and the barrels have been reblacked, The bores are excellent with square rifling from the throat to the muzzle. We know this gun quite well as it was sold in Oklahoma in 1994 and shot at our range and shoots very well with Woodleigh .483 diameter bullets, 83 grains of IMR 3031, 3 grains of poly fill, Federal 215 primer and the great 3 1/2” case. The original barrel blue remains at 70%, the case colors remain at 90% and the stock is as solid as when inletted and remains at 95%. It is tight to the face and the bores are as new. It is cased in the makers oak & leather trunk with a full set of accoutrements and a trade label with a fair amount of history on the firm of Watson Bros. It is regulated at 50 yards for the 1000 grain solid bullet.
