Many will agree that the Double Gun Journal fostered much of the revival of interest in double shotguns and double rifles. Sadly, it has announced its demise: https://www.thedoublegunjournal.net/

For many years I subscribed faithfully, primarily for the content concerning double rifles. Eventually, there came a time several years ago when, for me, the articles became repetitious. The content seemed to drift away from double rifles. I let my subscription lapse. All good things come to an end. I had seen that happen with other gun-related subscriptions in the past.

Still we owe a debt of gratitude to the publisher, and it is with sadness that I think of the Double Gun Journal passing. They did a great service to the double gun community and should be fondly remembered.

I have resisted the thought that the new generation of gun enthusiasts focuses solely on bolt and semi-auto rifles. Perhaps this development attests to the reality.

RIP Double Gun Journal.
