I just noticed this is a smoothbore. Aren't most howdahs rifles?

Perhaps a reason the price is ok so far.

.577 Snider is the chambering usually.

24 bore is .579 so effectively the same bore. But what would this 24 bore small bore be? A 24-bore shotgun chambering?
