I concur with 85lc and Nitrox's with comments; the 7x65R is a much versatile calibre you would be able to hunt almost any game in the US, aside from bear. It would dispatch bear, of course, but without "enough gun" it would unlikely stop a charging one. I personally use 7x65R in a single-shot rifle in France, on all European big game from roe deer to red deer size.
Can you easily source reloading components - cases mainly, in the US?
