I agree with your post.

Although the wo 460s I ordered from Roy were about 197 rifles and the shit shot out of them because we put a bag of lead shot behind them. My last 2 378s were 1990s rifles and they also has the shit shot out of them.

But as a factiry rifle comes they are bedded and I also like the barrel lug being on the barrel reinforce. Also, if all else is equal the big tang that sits on top of the wood is always better.

Two of the faults with the action is the small amount of stock material behind the recoil lug and with the deep lug and screw into the lug there is not much wood between the bottom of the lug and the floorplate.

Actually I can list more faults with the Mark V than about any other action. However, I like the overall package and that even includes the way they are imported to Australia.

In my opinion they are at their best value in the 378 based calibres. Even starting with a new CZ in 416 Rigby and rebarreling to 378, getting a muzzle brake etc costs a fair bit.
