Beautiful rifle! I've reloaded the 7x65R Brenneke for many years, mostly for my Merkel single shot rifle, but also for a Sauer & Sohn o/u double rifle I had for some years. I know some manufacturers regulated their double rifles in 7x65R for light 150 gr bullets, but I do prefer the heavy for caliber bullets for this cartridge - especially the 175 grains. The norma 170 grains (oryx and vulcan) are somewhat odd, as most manufacturers have 160 or 175 grains 7 mm bullets. I bet that a 175 grains bullet might be a good choice to try out. I reload the 175 grain partition to about 2460 fps with 52 grains norma MRP although it might be pushed a bit more, I see no point since it's very effective. The norma 170 grains oryx could be reloaded to about 2600 fps with MRP without exceeding the CIP max pressure. As for the 175 gr partition, I've also had very good results with the 175 gr woodleigh pp, both these bullets will probably perform best with 50-53 grains Norma MRP (got these non published data from a person from Norma), so I do recommend that powder or Alliant Reloder 22, which is listed as being manufactured from the same Eurenco Bofors reference powder. Feel free to contact me if you would like to have published data of the 7x65R, I have a lot of it. |
