Re: Who is the BEST builder of Double Rifles.

In my life, I've been lucky enough to own a number of fine rifles. I've had two Hollands ( a Royal in 500/465 and a #2 Action in 470), a Westley Richards drop-lock in 470, and a Rigby in 500 N.E.. I've also owned many Weatherby and Remington large caliber bolt guns (I'm a lefty), but the finest double I ever "handled" was a Purdey in .375 flanged magnum, and the finest working bolt-gun was a pre-war Rigby in 416. If I were puchasing a knock-about African rifle today, I would certainly look smartly a the new Winchester Safari Express in either 375 Mag. or 416 Remington Mag.. It's a hard value to beat for a puny $1,000.00.
