Interesting that the Fleming book "British Sporting Rifle Cartridges" does list a light .577 Snider loading of 51 grains powder under a 480 grains Lead Round Nose bullet by Eley. Possibly these would have been more commonly used in such pistols? Still in all a standard 70/480 load would not be worse than a .454 Casull.... - Mike |
