Re: Sauer Double Rifles...

Got out to the ranch this morning and managed to get a little time out to shoot the Sauer.

Of the assortment of ammunition there were two fresh boxes of factory loaded RWS 293 grain soft points whilch looked very much to be the H-mantel pictured above. The cartridges seem to be pretty old too, the price listed on the boxes was $21.00
I think the same ammo sells for about $90.00 a box today.
Over an old wooden tripod with a bean bag propped on top as a rest for my support hand I landed six rounds inside three inches, the barrel's groups overlapping, at fifty yards.
Each time I fired the rifle I'd walk it down to the target and note each p.o.i. and huff it back to the tripod bag rest for the next. I handled the rifle slightly differently each shot, getting familliar with the layout of the slender little gun and getting a sense of how the triggers felt with or without the single set feature.
Not so bad really.

Recoil was sweet, kind of a love tap with some extra push.
I think the load I was shooting was worth something in the 3600 ft/lb range too.
Really nice little gun.
