Sauer Double Rifles...

Today I was handling a nice little side by side boxlock extractor Sauer chambered in 9.3x74.
From the marks on the gun it seems to have been made in the mid 20's

It's cased, it has claw mounts and is scoped, and is in overall very good condition. The gun seems to have been stored well, the wood and metal have small handling marks, the muzzles are clean, the bores perfect.
Nice little rifle.

Anyone here own a boxlock JP Sauer and Sons double rifle?
How well do they stand up to use?
This one seems to have been on at least a couple of safaris, it's taken at least one elephant.
Threre's a couple hundred rounds of loaded ammo, as many projectiles of three or four types, brass, and two sets of dies.

The most interesting looking bullets in the pile were a spitzer type, nickel with hard copper points. I think they were 258 grain bullets, stamped with an R within a shield on thier bases. Very cool looking bullets. There were two vintages of RWS brass in the kit, what looked like older brass, with a slightly thinner rim and newer looking brass with extractor cuts and thicker rims. Also included are numerous pieces of Norma brass.

Any comments on these German doubles?
