Re: Shooting the .577 tomorrow

Got acquainted with the big gun today. After the initial whack to the nose, I held on a bit tighter and got things under control. I did not try and regulate the rifle today. Just wanted to get used to the thing. It reminds me of the first time I shot a .375. I thought it kicked like a mule. After a few practice sessions it was like shooting a 30 06. I managed to keep most of the hits inside a 6 inch square at 25 and 50 yards with a couple of flyers thrown in due to flinching. I will shoot it again tomorrow and then next week start to regulate her. Its some gun. I did have an iteresting dent about an inch long on two cases. The dent shape went along the cases up by where the bullet was seated. I figured I had left too much lubricant on the cases. It only happened to two the last two rounds I fired. Any comments?
