Back to the topic, It surprises me what prices are being asked for English boxlocks now. For instance, the Jeffrey .475 #2 currently being offered by Westley Richards (HERE). Sure, that's a fine rifle in a great classic caliber on a Webley action. But US$30k is getting into the stratosphere. A few years ago one would be hard pressed to expect more than $10k from an English boxlock. I'm not saying that Jeffrey isn't worth it. I don't know what it's worth, and I am not interested in buying it. Just an academic exercise. I did notice that Westley Richards has been selling the hell out of double rifles in the last several months, so they must know something. Am I wrong? What are other members observations?
