In Donald Dallas/RB book this serial number 783 does not match

I now have serious doubts about its provenance

My gunsmith told me the stock is rosewood, which to me is restocked in India (although a very good job, inside and out)

The only serial number is this, under the barrel, with faint proof marks

Whether barrel or lock (or both?) are original I have no idea

Daryl - the other barrels of the pistols are similar, rarely if ever fired with the corrosion you can see the only faults
