Military people must be tougher than african hunters. A BAR with ammo weighed around 40 lbs with the BAR alone around 18lbs. They were carried ALL day and the game hunted (man) is probably the deadliest on earth. When I was in they were greatly appreciated although in all honesty no one really wanted to carry one. I had a Thompson which with clips was well over 15lbs.
All true. But a foot soldier is a professional athlete, while most guys who hunt Africa spend the rest of the year behind a desk or working in a hospital. And by the time guys have money to hunt Africa, they are usually a bit older than the typical grunt.
