Chapuis o/u

This morning I had the opportunity to test-fire a Chapuis o/u. It was the Super Orion grade in 9,3x74R and I fired the Norma 232 Vulkan for which the rifle was factory regulated. It sported very nicely figured wood and engraved false sideplates. Engraving was shallow and kind of shoddy. Compared to my FN-Browning o/u, the overall picture was rather cheap (true, the Chapuis costs half the price) and it shot accordingly, with individual bbls. grouping tight but 6 cm (2.4") apart at 50 m. All in all, definitely not my cup of tea.
