Another good thread that never dies! I do not make guns, but I do shoot them and load for them as desired(.405 WCF) or when needed (.45-90 WCF). With such not-so-common cartridges, it can be helpful to be able to pressure test both factory and hand loads, especially when " venturing where no man has gone before". From all the wailing and complaining about not being able to pressure test new, unfired rifles, it must be that many are unaware that there is a low cost, easy to use pressure testing solution available for the price of taking the family out for an expensive meal. I use the Pressure Trace II product; it does require that you have a computer which most readers of this do have. Of real value is the software which creates pressure traces and can reveal much valuable information about the cartridges fired and for hand loaders, the components used. Here is a link to their web site: https://www.shootingsoftware.com/pressure.htm Enjoy! |
