Well, speaking as newbie, I am very sure that my doubles are only good for scaring a rabid chipmunk!! A bolt action loudenboomer magnum is the only thing that's suitable for anything larger.
Sorry, I just had to say that. My favorite double rifle is an ancient Sauer in 43 Mauser. I've trusted that over any other rifle for MOST hunting in this part of the world. And I'd use my 500bpe on just about anything else.
