I've never owned any other double rifle before my Krieghoff so that queer cocking thingy doesn't seem to have any ill effect on me. It works well and follow up shots are easier as it doesn't automatically go back to safe when broken open and recocks automatically.

The issue about fast seems to have a few questions. It appears that when the average hunter is getting into a dangerous situation you "almost" always know it in advance. Stalking a dangerous and or wounded animal has you high on adrenalin, hand and rifle in the ready position. It seems that the cocking lever is effortless.

It also appears that far more guns have safety's that don't work in the heat of the moment. Krieghoffs may appear difficult but they work and don't take a lot to get use to.
