I'll second the Ruger No1 idea. I had one rebarreled from 375 H&H to 500 Nitro, and I love it. For a couple thousand bucks investment you can play with it and see what you think. I have one in 416 Rigby as well. I'll never be able to afford a double or Africa, but the No1's are inexpensive African gun fun.
