I don't know why Ray doesn't like Chapuis's but I can tell you why I don't like mine. I bought one in 30-06. Not the most practical chambering, but I thought it would be a good choice for hunting from a tree stand in the Pa. woodlands. shots here are usually within 100 yds. The trouble is, I can't find a load that will shoot minute of pieplate at 100 yds. It looks good, shoulders and handles great. The trigger isn't too bad. But I have no confidence in it.
That's why I won't buy another.
