I'm new to the DR world (less than a year into it) and when I spent the weekend with the DRSS in Texas two weeks ago, I learned A LOT from the other guys. What a gret bunch!

When I first seriously considered a DR I did look at the .470. But my arsenal at the time was comprised of a .338 win mag, .375 H&H, .416 Rem Mag and .416 Rigby. I felt that if I was going to drop the $$$$ on a new double, I would go all out and get the .500. Why? Nostalgia maybe, but I liked the idea of having the extra umph if needed.

My pop is having Butch build a .577 NE for him. That should be done around the first of the year. The next DR I'm seriously considering (with the wife's approval) is a .450-400...
