Re: Two Fine Doubles - Sound Off With Your Opinion.

There is something about the WRs that always makes them look so damn'd nice!! Thier Drop-lock models are without a doubt "Classics"!

I made a bid on that Cabela's gun - nowhere near what they were asking (BTW). But, thought it would be a nice addition to the battery.

BUT for discussion's sake, If I had to choose between the two, I'd go the DMB - it just looks so much more "lively" than the WR. A "rifleman's" rifle - I dare to say.

Also, there are a TON of WRs on the market right now whereas the only DMB DR I've seen for sale is (ironically) on the WR site! Price one directly from DMB and you'll immediately call WR and buy it if you're serious. I'm still stinging from a new pair of Fabbris, or else I'd grab it! (still might).

I priced a pair of new custom SxS 12 bores from DMB last week - 28,000 sterling each NEW...Interestingly, Griffin & Howe have a used one on their site for about what you'd pay for new??? That's pretty good testiment as to their holding power compared to say that of Purdey / H&H which are like automobiles - about half or less of replacement cost at time of re-sale!!!

I think that as time goes on, the DMBs will be the better investment over the WRs - they're just that scarce!

Oh, anybody know of any good deals on a WR Drop-lock!!?
