Good Day All: Broke my elbow last year in September, had the plate and six screws removed last week and now on the mend. Can't shoot but I can still look and touch and slug barrels. So I'm killing time and figured I'd finally slug the bores on my Baikal sxs in 45-70. Turns out both barrels come in at .456" land to land and .450" groove to groove. When running the slugs down from the breach, I needed to tap the rod with a hammer for approximately the first eight inches; after that, I could push the rod and slug out of the rest of the bore with moderate hand force. Have a friend casting some 350 grain flat nose round point bullets. Going to have them sized to .458". Anybody else slug their bores and what did you get. Kind regards, carpediem |
