I suppose the 3" version is the better caliber, not much doubt about that, but were I looking for a 450-400 I would pick the better gun, as I have used, loaded, and hunted with both versions and if I were shopping it would make no difference which case it was, 3 or 3-1/4", if I liked the rifle.
