I expect the chambers were bored out, then sleeved. The sleeves were then chambered for .458 Win Mag.
A simple re-chamber should work just fine, if that is the case, as long as there is not a 'joint' at the end of the 'sleeve' than allows gasses to escape radially around the sleeve's abutment with the barrels. Perhaps I am seeing possible problems where none exist.
