Actually, my opinion as to the accuracy comes from several folks shooting my gun, not just me. Most are better shots (and all have younger eyes). I'm pretty good about calling a good shot or a poor one. If I think I've shot four good ones at 50 yards, more likely than not, I'll have a group that will be covered by a fifty-cent piece, and with a .475 diameter bullet, that results in a big, jagged hole.

Now, if Mbogo375 was shooting my gun, he'd do better, I'm sure. He is one of the best iron sight shooters I know.

I guess what I'm saying, rather inarticulately, is that my Searcy, and most that I've heard of, shoot better than the shooter. The Merkels I've seen shoot, or have shot, are more than adequete, too.

While this thumbnail picture is not one ragged hole, it contains two targets of a right and left. If you put all four together, they would obviously touch... I've done that several times, and I guess these 50 yard targets, kind of show that its not a fantasy.
