I've been chasing this for years. It wasn't for sale when I first saw it; then it was, but I hadn't the cash; then I'd saved enough, but it was off the table, so I bought something else; then it was on again, for more... eventually, I saved enough, made an offer, and the offer was accepted. Now it's mine! C 1891, hammerless underlever (is there a more distinctive style?!), Damascus barrelled, Henry-patent (whose else?!) rifled. Not pristine, but not a wreck at all either. It came with an NEI .504", 460gr mould and some handloads which I doubt will regulate, given the accompanying load data - miles from original specs of 130gr powder and a 380gr bullet. But I think I'll enjoy working on that! I'll need a .50" pilot for my Lyman acculine and probably a .500ish" 380gr mould. |
