It sounds a little bit steap in the condition you describe.

I have two guesses as to caliber. These are pure guesses, but here goes. 10.4x38r swiss Vertterli or the 10.4x47r ititalia vetterli. I had, at one time, a 10.4x47r in my cartrigde collection. When I moved the last time I seem to have misplaced it, but if I can dig it up I'll send you the dementions.
