For me, at least, the immediate feedback of a reactive target lets me get bused to a particular rifle a lot faster than shooting paper - the sight picture and grip on the rifle is in immediate memory when you get the information as to whether you hit. When I know I'm going on a hunt with a particular rifle I put a couple of lmall ogs on top of some gate posts 110 yards from the house. I shoot a couple of shots and then, next time I go through the gate I set them up again. I might shoot only 20 shots in a week, but they are all two shots out of cold barrels and, as the week goes by the logs break up so the targets et smaller. And, no cleaning up. mike |
