I am new to the forum but I do have a Sabatti (please be gentle I bruise easily).

I bought the 45-70 Sabatti a few months ago after selling my Baikal (also 45-70).

The difference is chalk and cheese (as you would hope with the price difference).

I am over the moon with my Sabbati.

I am currently playing around with loads to find the one I will take to my gun smith to regulate.

I am currently leaning towards the 405Gr cast rounds with 38gr of AR2207 (about 1800fps). These are comfortable to fire and should put down anything I will walk across in NSW.

I am also working with a 535Gr cast round and may try boosting the 405 to approx 2000fps (slowly) and see how happy I am to fire those.

I love the look and feel of the Sabatti (admittedly I had a low base to compare from). At this stage I am still having fun playing around with loads and sights (I have a SightMark reflex sight on at the moment) and once I am happy with it I will go out and see if I can knock over a pig or two.
