I am going to acquire a 9.3x62 barrel for my Mauser M03. Not a "classic rifle" but a good usuable plaform for the calibre/cartridge.

Hoping to trade in a .30-06 solid M03 barrel (near new) to partly finance the 9.3 barrel.

Have you thought about a 8,5x63 Reb barrel?

You like it so much, buy one yourself.

I would go for a .318 WR before that cartridge or a .333 Jeffery. Probably anyway.

I wonder how th 8.5mm in reality handles the wide range of projectile weights?

A 9.3x62 barrel would make a nice hunting cartridge for larger medium sized game, and running/driven game hunts.

Already have barrels in 8x68S and a .404.

A .375 H&H barrel might be another alternative but still have the issue with recoil and already have one in a Whitworth M98.
