" only real reason to chamber a DR in 375 H&H or 458 Winchester is the readily available ammo." I'll say this right up front. A great reason to get a DR in .375 H&H is mild recoil! I can shoot it all day. The .375 H&H is a very versatile round and in a DR is darn near the perfect hunting rifle. Mine shoots like a dream for bullets weighing 235-350 grains. Each has regulated well bellow factory velocity, so pressure is not an issue. I have over 500 rounds in my merkel without a single failure to extract. And it's still smack on face. The chapuis is the best, but a merkel is also fine. |
