Although butchloc alleged that the rifle doubles, Cabelas never knew of a problem with it doubling (or they would have sent it back to Searcy). And Butch did not say it doubled when he received it. With someone using an unknown gunsmith to alter the rifle, it's hard to know whether the rifle ever doubled, and if it did, whether the unknown gunsmith is the one who caused it in the first place.

One nice thing about buying a double from an American maker is that it is really easy to send it in for any service or upgrade. Not so if you have to ship the rifle across the Atlantic.
