Re: Searcy .577 NE

Butch Searcy is not registered here, but here is what he emailed regarding this issue:

In reply to:

Dan, just got off the phone with Cabela's. The rifle was returned twice to Cabela's, but as trade in's not for repair..... Anyhow, that same rifle was just sold to a fellow in Wis. a month ago. This fellow knew of my concern for my rifles and returned it for my latest upgrades to the action. New mainsprings, Sears and springs, and one firing pin spring. The only charge was shipping.

So it looks like there were some factual inaccuracies in some else's post above.

I also had the mainsprings, etc upgraded to the new design in my Searcy rifle - not because of a malfunction but because it was an upgrade and it was FREE! Hell, Remington won't even replace a trigger that is killing people, but Searcy gives us free upgrades to a system that is working fine.

One notable difference in my rifle after the upgrades is that the trigger pull FEELS easier, but it measures harder. That means I shoot it more accurately, but it is less likely that I will accidentally set off the 2nd barrel without intending to.
