Decades back I had a Gastinne Rennete in 9x57R, boxlock ejector, QD scope in the old Miller Kodiak mount that did not require drilling & tapping. Very easy to handload for, developed loads with and without scope and for both 200 and 250 grain that shot into 3-4" or so at 100. Shot a big buck on Anticosti Island with the 250 grain Hornady right through a tree, I figured the bullet would go right on through, it was maybe 8-10" thick. Then I foolishly sold the rifle. I think I still have a box of the bullets unless I've given them away. |
